Ackermann benchmark - “A use of the *Ackermann function to provide a *benchmark for computer performance. Typically in excess of 100,000 recursive calls to the function are made and the number of completed calls per second measured. The benchmark gives a good indication of the overhead associated with procedure calls and function calls.” (Fair Use ODCS)
