AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Azure Portal
-
- Personalize the Azure Portal - Create your own Azure Dashboards, layouts, Azure workflows and colors.
- Azure Access Control - Fine-grained/granular Access Control in Azure of all your Azure Resources. This will make Azure Management and Azure Governance much easier.
- Azure Cost Management - Excellent Azure tooling to keep track of current and projected Azure spend for your Azure Resources
- Azure One Stop Shop - Single Azure Portal, Azure single login for all you Azure assets / Azure Resources
- Azure is Constantly Updated - The Azure Portal, Azure features, and Azure products are constantly updated. This can be bad because it is confusing compared to the more stable Azure Command Line Interface (Azure CLI)
- Multi-Platform Azure - Azure Portal functions are available through the web interface and on mobile devices like Android (Azure on Android) and iPhone (Azure on iOS) and tablets such as iPad using iPad OS (Azure on iOS), Amazon Fire Tablet, etc.
Azure CLI
-
- Azure CLI command stability - Stable - Stability - Test commands don't change and the CLI is in a stable state
- Azure CLI command structure - CLI commands are structured very logically and all follow the same pattern
- Azure Automation - It is simple to automate the Azure CLI commands for future use.
- Azure CLI Logging - Keep track of who ran what command and when in various ways.
Azure PowerShell
-
- Text-based command-line interface (CLI) like the Azure CLI but uses Microsoft PowerShell command format.
- Uses PowerShell Cmdlets - PowerShell scripts that perform specific Azure management tasks. e.g. “New-AzVm” created a new Azure Virtual Machine
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM) - Azure PowerShell uses the Azure Resource Manager (Azure ARM), just like the Azure Portal, to manage Azure Resources.
- PowerShell Versatility - In additional management of Azure, PowerShell can be used for a plethora of IT Ops tasks, Cloud Ops tasks (Cloud Ops using PowerShell), DevOps tasks (DevOps using PowerShell), IT management (Ops using PowerShell) and PowerShell scripting / Programming with PowerShell)
